M'sia artwork

D.A.I.J
Well, went to Bank Negara Museum and Art Gallery twice....1st on 25/7 with soft skill department second is with the whole class on  28/7.  I want to try artwork analysis on a few Artwork that we saw at Gallery. All the analysis is base on my own opinion

Example,
I going to do analysis on one of Yee I-Lann artwork.

Describe-
The artwork is name Kerbau, done by Yee I-Lann on year 2007 by the material of Digital Print. It is a long artwork rather then a normal framing artwork. The artwork is filled with many many kerbau with them separating them into 2 sides in the center and road block cone is also in the art. The background is using white color without any color.

Analyze-
For my opinion, I personally think that this art is a formalistic artwork because it is not base on aesthetic as aesthetic is dealing with the nature, the creation and appreciation of beauty. It uses digital print as the main material because to implement with the idea of recycle as to reduce down the trees being cut down.

Interpret-
-Kerbau, or water buffalo is majorly found in Southeast Asia. Water Buffalo give people an impression of very stubborn, very difficult to control them.

-Cone is usually use as a sign to stop people as there is danger and is also guide people's direction.

-White color has an image of pure, innocent and clean.
To combine all the element, I think that She is trying to say that people is just like Buffalo very stubborn and also always follow the government rules.Government set the rules by using the cone as Government want people to follow the cone to walk as Governement thinks people is to pure and innocent as they will just follow what government set for them. The people(buffalo) is angry this time therefore they don't want to follow. People now is not stupid as they will think and will not follow without thinking. The buffalo knocked down the cone to shows that they are not following the rules any more. And the art is show that groups of buffalo not a buffalo. This is to show that people are uniting to show their anger to the governemet.

Judgement-
I believe i cant do the judgement as i did not know what is the main objective of her doing the artwork.

4C's

well, title is special this time...4C's stands for Curiousity, Confidence, Courage, Change.

what does it relate to this post?
well, after that lesson, i realize how important the 4C's are for culture.
i feel like a kindergarden level chinese who know little for her own chinese culture.
why do i say so?
cause i eventually follow western culture so much when i am still young.
my family do have strong chinese culture but is going to fade after a few more generation....the culture fades away as my grandparents will die soon as the time has come.

i am curious about our chinese culture when i grow older, i starts to explore through internet, documentary about chinese culture, i wears cheongsam when new year instead of wearing dresses...
although is not about having confidence to learn other's culture, but having confidence to learn my own culture is not that hard to change myself but i do gain courage to change my view on my own culture. i love how cheongsam bring out the beauty of a woman, i love the meaning of round table for dinner, i love to explain my culture to other people although i may not the expert. i do love chinese opera as every detail stands one meaning...
i love how the building hides the detail of chinese culture...how the chinese culture being bring to alive..

i feels like i am a little late to learn all my culture yet i am happy that i have started to learned them.

negaraku

well, that day was a fun class to like listen back the namewee's "negarakuku" song.
here's  mine and cheryl version of negaraku....not to say is a song but a poem???i think so...

Malaysia, my dream
my dream country that is so wonderful
we dream for a peaceful Malaysia
she seems to be but not
we dream for  well governed malaysia
strong uncorrupted leaders
we dream for a safe environment
we hope that our dream will come true
with God leading us the way

Our thought's for Malaysia :)

another country review

well, after a long time of abandoning my blog..... someone told me blog is part of my assignment marks....so.....here i am....need to blog again....no choice....so...i blog every post back that i should be posted long time ago...

about another country the theater performance...i kinda forgot like almost everything...so....i pick on act from the performance....

mama looking for her cat
that performance might just saying a old Indian nanny finding her cat by communicating with an Chinese uncle who speaks in Hokkien.
is a funny performance yet is a hurt after listening to what ms e say that the S'pore gov push all the oldies to aside without considering them...

Seriously speaking, to think what happen currently...aren't we kinda similar to the oldies? not to say equal...just i think is similar because what ever we trying to tell the gov, they are like in the other channel, or speak other language therefore they don't understand us...we, the younger generation do love here, is a homeland without much natural disaster although we do have floods...we do hope that our gov leads us to a better Malaysia, yet.....they cant understands us and i kinda feel that malaysia is reversing?not forwarding...
when there's unity, there's peaceful.
when there's peaceful, there's harmony.
when there's harmony, there's happiness.
when there's happiness, there's malaysia.

THE VERY 1ST POST

Well, ms Carmen tells in 1st class of this subject

"BLOG ASSIGNMENT DUE DATE THIS SUNDAY"

"HAR??? OMG!!! BLOGGING??? WRITING?! I DOESN'T LIKE WRITING AT ALL"
Thoughts of mine in mind. OK, no choice. assignment mark involved. need to done it.

Cut all those extra intro words.
Q:Do you identify as a Malaysian? Why? Does it matter?

Well, answer for me is Yes. I identify myself as a Malaysian and it does matter to me.
WHY??
From knowing the national anthem of our country "negaraku"& "rukun negara".  it does already proved me a Malaysian.

Other than knowing national anthem, i wanna tell my life. I am a Chinese, born and stayed in Malaysia. I couldn't be a Chinese from China; although I look like one.(all malaysian' chinese look totally same from china) The similarities of Chinese from China and Malaysian's chinese are almost the same. the culture are same.my family speak mandarin; eat with chopstick&bowl; sit together having meals around a round table (not just reunion dinner of CNY eve);celebrate CNY; wear the same traditonal clothes during CNY; celebrate mooncake festival;celebrate chinese winter solstice and many others. I can identify myself as a China citizen from all the point i give....
BUT
I know how to speak malay language(not very fluently), does china citizens know?
I know malaysian language as in all those "la, meh, leh, gua, lol, mah & etc"and also
"cincai, bojio, mamak, kopitiam, saman, kongsi, abudeh,on the way(never step out of the house yet)"
I know malaysian sign language as in:
"raise hand during driving= thank you for letting me cut in"
"raise hand while crossing road= stop"
"raise hand at mamak= call the boss to order"
" raise hand while doing randomly air signature= bill"
and others
I know typical malaysian altitude as in
complain on anything, always say got promotion, offer, discount, coupon and also ask for free gift and etc.
OFF COURSE
I know malaysian hate malaysia because of the ruler, the politics, GST la, traffic jam la, criminal cases, too many bangladesh la and etc....but we call ourselves as when Malaysia happen disaster, we stick together and get through it together. cases like MH370,MH 17 heavy floods and Sabah earthquake, terrorist in sabah all these cases, malaysian stick together and help each other by giving out an helping hand instead of standing aside and watch others people do thing.
IN CONCLUSION
When a malaysian still stick together and hope for a better future by changing something or went overseas to learn new knowledge and apply in our country, we still are identify as malaysian and never change the fact that we are malaysian.
